The Lone Gunmen "The Lone Gunmen" was a small spin-off of Fox's hit tv series "The X-Files." Airing from March of 2001 through June of the same year, the shows main characters were Frohike (played by Tom Braidwood, former co-director of the X-Files), Langley (comedian Dean Haglund), and Byers (Bruce Harwood). They were the creators of a small conspiracy magazine ("The Lone Gunmen")and were occasional guest stars on "The X-Files." The cancellation of the show was the leading factor in this sites creation. When it was cancelled, I decided to create a website in tribute. I talked to Matt about it one day as he used to have his own personal conspiracy site, and out came the Lone Conspirators. I'll give you one guess as to where we got that title. I was hoping to give the site a sort of a newspaper look as a nod to the fictional magazine featured in the tv show. Thankfully, the first and only season of the show was released on dvd. It's a shame the show had to be cancelled; I read several positive reviews and am of course a big fan myself. The only good that came out of it's cancellation was our inspiration to create this site, which has grown to be more than just a tribute. Discuss this at our message board.
